New Fast Food Chain Aims to Grow Sustainably

Fast food establishments are the last places you think would engage in the use of sustainable development practices, but if a new eco-friendly pizza chain catches on, that all may change.

Pizza Fusion is a brand new franchise aiming to build LEED certified restaurants that implement as many energy efficient products and building techniques as possible. And if that’s not enough, they even plan to deliver their pizzas using hybrid vehicles.

While the “green” movement has started to penetrate many industries, restaurants have largely been left behind. This is something that must change since restaurants currently use 33% of all electricity in the retailing sector.
