Gatorade Facility Achieves LEED Gold Certification

Gatorade’s 950,000 square feet facility in Wytheville, Virginia has received the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold-level certification. 

Key features of the new environmentally friendly building include: 

 

  • Maximized supply water usage and optimized wastewater treatment efficiency
  • Energy efficient boilers, water heaters and HVAC equipment with calibrated control systems
  • Natural habitats maintained throughout half of the site to promote biodiversity
  • Prominent educational displays highlighting various LEED components used in the facility
  • Premium parking for employees who commute by bicycles, carpools and hybrid vehicles.
