Title: Carrier 4 ton 13 SEER Puron central air conditioner
Post by: gary on September 16, 2007, 07:42:02 AM
I purchased a Carrier 4 ton 13 SEER Puron central air conditioner on  8/31/07.  Is this eligible for any federal tax credits for 2007?  I have never utilized any energy credits up to now.

Unfortunately, the minimum requirement for the federal tax credit on central A/C units is 14 SEER for package systems and 15 SEER for split systems.  The Puron system is still a great choice environmentally speaking - just not in the eyes of the IRS.

We'd love to know your experience with the unit.  Anything you share would be beneficial to others comparing similar units.
