Title: Daylight Saving Time Saves Energy? Post by: lizandjer on April 09, 2007, 03:59:23 PM Article: Daylight Saving Time Saves Energy? (http://www.informedbuilding.com/In-the-News/Latest-News/Daylight-Saving-Time-Saves-Energy?/)
Title: Re: Daylight Saving Time Saves Energy? Post by: Sandro on November 19, 2007, 12:50:39 PM Daylight savings time is a complete waste. In the summer, when the days are longer anyway, we change our clocks so it seems that the day is even longer. In the winter, when the days are shorter, we turn back to the normal time. If we were trying to save daylight, we would leave the clock alone in the summer and adjust it in winter. Daylight saving is an inane concept that accomplishes nothing.

Post by: pollyjean on November 20, 2007, 10:55:16 AM My understanding is that DST originally had nothing to do with saving energy, but with increasing business sales. Lengthening winter afternoons makes it easier for people to go shopping after work, which is (supposedly) why we have it. I do agree that it's a foolish idea and we'd be smart to abandon it.

Why not we turn back into normal time and there will be no more confusion over the time (where you forgot to change your time and go to work late).
