A company called Nanosolar has created a solar film that does not require the use of costly silicon. This has brought the price of solar energy to 30 cents a watt which is cheaper than coal!

This technology helps a lot if the cost of production and installation is reduced to at least 1/4th. I don't agree with the  reduction in the cost per kWh. That is just a stastical gimmick.
