Having a spouse that has been in landscaping for 20+ years she is always touting the advantages of using native grasses and vegetation as they are less harmful to the environment due to there ease of growth since they are already acclimated to the area. Less fertilizers and pest control/disease treatments reduce the cost of upkeep and greatly benefit the environment.
