Explore your property closely before choosing a house location.  Try to preserve native plants and old trees!

Very good idea!  There's a chance you may find plants that are very good to have around your house. Like Aloe Vera.  Besides, you shouldn't just bulldoze over anything without giving it a good once over! Smiley

I would say it's even more important to explore before bulldozing when you think about building an inground pool.
You may cut some water pipes or phone lines.
